High stem PA. DUSKY MAIDEN has oval to rounded leaves. The edges are slightly wavy and a rich burgundy red when the bush grows in full sun. In autumn, it turns golden yellow, orange and bright red. At the beginning of summer, it forms large, thread-like flowers with long, burgundy to pink "hairs", which create an amazing fluffy appearance for 1-2 months.

A compact, well-branched shrub that is tolerant of a variety of soils but thrives in well-drained, moderately fertile, moist soil in full sun or partial shade. Fall foliage color is richer in acidic soils.
